This is my cover for my 2015 NaNoWriMo project. Credits Credits to Robert Muller on Flickr for the castle (www.flickr.com/photos/molinari…) and ValerianaSTOCK for the gears, which come from Steampunk Background STOCK by ValerianaSTOCK .

I probably won't have much time for fractals for the next month while I'm racing to write 50,000 words, though I hope to keep up with the Chain Pong at least. So if you don't see much from me in November, that's why. If any of you reading this are also doing NaNo, feel free to add me as  writing buddy -- I'm ellarien over there too.

  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? Just over a year

  2. What does your username mean? It's after the protagonist of a novel draft I wrote nearly twenty years ago. I've been using it in various places online since late 2004.

  3. Describe yourself in three words.Middle-aged nerd

  4. Are you left or right handed? Right

  5. What was your first deviation?Purple Mountains by ellarien

    It never got any faves, but I keep it around because Gerda1946 was kind enough to comment.

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create? Fractals -- particularly Mandelbulb-type 3d ones.

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? It would be nice to actually control flame fractals instead of just throwing the dice.

  13. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? Without batjorge and Undead-Academy sharing their great pong parameters I might never have found my way into Mandelbulb3d and the wonderful world of 3d fractals.

  14. What are your preferred tools to create art? Mandelbulb3d, JWildfire, Fragmentarium

  15. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? My computer.

I know when the app first came out I was complaining that it used too much bandwidth, but now it seems to have swung too far the other way in compressing images.

Mb3D on Windows 10?

Has anyone tried to run Mandelbulb3D on the Windows 10 pre-release version? If the new Windows comes along this year, I'd like to know whether I can still run my favourite software before I upgrade -- particularly as I'm very close to buying a new computer specifically with fractals in mind!
